Harry Potter Series Synopsis

The Harry Potter Series (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) by J.K. Rowling

Rating: ***** Suggested Age: 9 and 10

When Rowling wrote Harry Potter, the characters were growing up with the audience. Since the characters got older the books became more mature. They were falling in love and taking part in more violent situations. I read the whole series when I was eight because they all were out in book stores then. In hindsight I should have waited to read the later novels because they were a little too violent. I am a fast reader and I could not put them down. When she wrote them she probably imagined they would take younger kids longer to read, so they would be older by the time they were reading the later books. That is the case for most kids, just not me. I loved the books, though. They are my favorite series in the entire world. I have read them each multiple times. It has been a pleasure to explain why these books are great and what to watch out for in my favorite series. I hope you got a lot out of my Harry Potter reviews. Keep reading.

I enjoyed your review. Years ago I saw many adults reading the Harry Potter series too. Some were enjoying the pure fantasy and imagination of the series. Others were perhaps parents curious to know what their children were reading, which is a wise thing to do. I appreciate knowing that there is some violence that could be disturbing for young readers. I too love to read and now you have piqued my interest in reading the series .
