April Wrap-Up

April Wrap-Up Time!

It’s actually rather difficult for me to believe that April is over…wow. It’s May. I only have a month of school left.

I read 5 books this month (kind of):

-I finished Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken: 4/5 stars

Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman: 3/5 stars

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard: 5/5 stars

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell: 5/5 stars

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children: 5/5 stars

My favorites from theses books:

Never Fade: Jude. Just Jude.

And this quote, in which Ruby explains precisely what it is like to have a loved one die:  “The more you got to know someone, the more you inevitably came to care about him or her. The lines between you became blurred, and when the separation came, it was excruciating to untangle yourself from that life.” -page 27, Ruby

Challenger Deep: There wasn’t anything I truly loved about this book.

Red Queen: Everything. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Mare, but I thought the world was wonderful and the story was wonderful and everything was wonderful.

Fangirl: So, I am Cath. I loved Cath so much and I loved Levi so much. Can I pull Levi out of the book and make him my boyfriend? PLEASE???? And the Simon and Baz scenes were so adorable and I need to read Carry On at some point, honestly.

This quote: “To really be a nerd, she’d decided, you had to prefer fictional worlds to the real one.” -page 299, Cath.” This is so true and so very much me.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children: Since this is one of my new favorite books, I loved everything about it. The characters were fantastic. The plot was fantastic. EVERYTHING WAS FANTASTIC. And Emma…I loved her.

Books I bought:

Rebel of the Sands, Glass Sword, Fangirl, Salt to the Sea, Siege and Storm, and All the Bright Places. I have read Glass Sword, Fangirl, and Siege and Storm. I started to read All the Bright Places, but as I neared the end, decided not to finish it.

At Yallwest, I bought Hollow City and In the Afterlight.

Yallwest was an extraordinary experience. I got to meet Veronica Roth and she signed Divergent for me! I met Marie Lu, who signed Legend and Champion for me. I met Neal Shusterman, who signed Challenger Deep. I met Victoria Aveyard, who signed Red Queen. I also got Ally Condie to sign Crossed for me! Lastly, I met Ransom Riggs, who signed Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. I also came home with two books (see books I bought). I can’t express how much fun this was for me and how amazing it was!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful month!
