If I’d like to reach my goal of 80 books this year, I have to read 16 books this month. I honestly don’t see that happening, but I’m going to make my list 16 books long just in case.
First, I would like to finish Paper & Fire, my current read. I’m hoping to finish that today or sometime this week. I read it’s predecessor Ink & Bone earlier this year and fell in love with the world Rachel Caine created.
Then, I’m hoping to read Replica, which has been sitting on my shelf for far too long. I can’t let it sit there any longer, so I am determined to knock it out this month. May the odds be ever in my favor.
Aside from those two, I would like to read The Looking Glass Wars, Wild Beauty, The Hamilton Affair, Uprooted, My Lady Jane, Autonomous, Molokai, The Kite Runner, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Orphan Train, The Knife of Never Letting Go, Red Rising, and The Crystal Caves. This list is really ambitious, especially considering some of these are really long, but I’m hoping the holiday break at the end of the month will benefit me. I also am going to be doing some long car drives to go visit family for Christmas, so I’ll have plenty of time to read. But before then my schedule is looking really hectic. I have so many assignments and projects due before break including an essay, two large tests (at least), and multiple photography projects. I’m considering carving time out each night for reading, which will allow my mind a break too.
I think of all the books I want to read this month, I’m most excited for Wild Beauty, My Lady Jane, and The Hamilton Affair! I’ve recently been super obsessed with the musical Hamilton (I’m currently listening to the soundtrack as I write).
As well, this month, I’m hoping to write 10k, succeed in my classes, and not stress too much about making my reading challenge. I doubt I will do it, but I’m still a little hopeful. Next year I’ll definitely be lowering my goal…especially with the three AP classes I want to take in the fall.
What are you hoping to read in December?
