March Wrap-Up

My streak of reading a lot CONTINUES!!! I’m not actually sure how I read nine books in March, especially with finals week in there, but I did and I am happy. (Though…to be fair, one of the books I’ve been reading since December).

I started the month reading the entire All for the Game trilogy  by Nora Sakavic because my lovely friend allowed me to borrow it from her. I’m not sure yet if I’ll do full reviews on here for it, but feel free to check my Goodreads account because I’ll definitely review them there. To sum it up: I have never loved sports so much in my entire life since Quidditch happened. Also, angsty boys? My favorite.

Then I read The Archived, which was a hard no from me. I love Victoria Schwab’s other books, but this fell so flat and just…ugh. It was an easy two star rating and I’ll probably get to a review for it soon.

Next came Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertelli and I think that’s my favorite of the month and possibly of the year so far. I haven’t cried so much reading a book since I finished Allegiant in seventh grade and these tears were for a completely different reason. Everything about this book was amazing. I still haven’t seen Love, Simon yet, but I can’t wait until I do. Everyone deserves a great love story.

Cue the ugly crying again.

Anyway, I just finished A Gathering of Shadows, also by Victoria Schwab, and this one I loved! I think I do prefer A Darker Shade of Magic, but I’m hyped for A Conjuring of Light. See my TBR post for April for more on that one…

I also read the poetry book It Starts Like This in approximately thirty minutes, which is basically a quick way of me saying I didn’t love it and rushed through it. (Though it’s also 60 pages long).

Lastly, I finished East of Eden by John Steinbeck for school (the one I’ve been reading since December) and read the entirety of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I actually really enjoyed East of Eden, but The Great Gatsby was rather eh. Though, I was inspired to write a retelling of it that focuses more on Nick.

I hope everyone had a great March!
