The Elite by Kiera Cass

Rating: ***** Suggested Age: 13

Summary: “The Selection began with thirty-five girls. Now with the group narrowed down to the six Elite, the competition to win Prince Maxon’s heart is fiercer than ever—and America is still struggling to decide where her heart truly lies. Is it with Maxon, who could make her life a fairy tale? Or with her first love, Aspen? America is desperate for more time. But the rest of the Elite know exactly what they want—and America’s chance to choose is about to slip away.” (Summary found on Goodreads).

The Elite was a wonderful addition to Kiera Cass’s series. The romance was a little higher, giving it a higher suggested age. The violence was higher giving it a higher age too. Again, I could not put this book down and managed to finish it while eating breakfast yesterday. Cass has a wonderful ability to hook her readers which is something I value highly. It was the one thing that drew me away from The Maze Runner and what drew me to loving with all my heart the Harry Potter Series. Hooking readers is one of the most important things an author has to do and Cass succeeded there. Though, take away her ability to hook readers and all you have is a great book written uneventfully. She wasn’t an excellent author, but she most definitely wasn’t a terrible author. I have recommended this book to all my friends and I recommend this to everyone, especially if you loved the first book.
