The One Review

The One by Kiera Cass

Rating: ***** Suggested Age: 13

Summary: “The time has come for one winner to be crowned. When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown—or to Prince Maxon’s heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose—and how hard she’ll have to fight for the future she wants.” (Summary found on Goodreads).

The One is a great third book to Kiera Cass’s series. As of a few minutes ago I thought it was the last book, apparently there is another to come and I am dying of excitement right now and anticipation for May 5th. That is too far away, but I will have to deal with it. The romance is still higher than the first book, giving it a higher suggested age (again). The violence has become more intense than both of the previous novels also adding to the age recommendation. I started this book yesterday and finished it about two hours ago. I could not put it down (except when I threw it on the floor in anger at some of the characters). Cass does a brilliant job of making you hate the characters that deserve hate, and love the characters that are strongest (even when they do dumb things). I am in awe by everything that happened in this book and I am still running the events through my head. I recommend this book to everyone who has fallen in love with this series too.
